Stock Transfer Instructions

Thank you for making a gift of stock to Rumsey Hall School. The following information can be provided to your brokerage in order to facilitate your transfer. Please notify the Advancement Office of the name/number of shares of your stock transfer. The market value of the stock on the date of sale will represent the tax deductible amount of your gift.

You can expand the impact of your gift to Rumsey Hall significantly by applying for matching funds through your employer. A matching gift is a donation from a corporation that matches the monetary gift made by its employee to Rumsey Hall. Please consult your employer's human resources to learn if your gift to Rumsey is eligible for a match. Rumsey Hall will acknowledge this generosity in its Annual Giving Report.

The IRS deems donations to eligible 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations as tax deductible. This rule is for individuals and corporations. A corporation can only take deductions for charitable giving for up to 10 percent of its yearly taxable income.

Legacy Gifts

Consider the impact your estate planning has on Rumsey's future. Legacy gifts such as bequests (naming Rumsey as a beneficiary of your will or living trust) life insurance policies or charitable remainder trusts (CRT) (which generates income for you during your lifetime or other beneficiaries, with the remainder of the donated assets gifted to Rumsey) will support Rumsey Hall's Endowment and other capital projects that help ensure the School's good health and longevity. Charitable bequests can provide you and your family significant advantages by helping to reduce estate tax. Recognition and remembrance in Rumsey's Heritage Society helps inspire others to support the School in similar lasting ways.
